Select Fetzer Vineyards
Dedicated to providing a greater impact and expanding the cultures of wine, B Corporation Certified and carbon-neutral company Fetzer Vineyards is here to deliver its stellar, robust, and sustainable wine collection. The German-owned company, Fetzer, strives to deliver a modern approach to initializing sustainable vineyards that its competitors can certainly learn from. Allow me to brag, even though their products speak for themselves.
The significantly detailed process that a company must undergo to become B certified is a proud badge that Fetzer has obtained to differentiate itself from their Californian counterparts. They are also zero waste while boasting in their efforts of reaching Net-Zero. They use over 75,000 solar panels, outsource clean and sustainable energy, and are a global industry leader in providing a greener lifestyle. Fetzer has been recognized by the top prestige of winemakers and enthusiasts such as Wine Star, Momentum for Change, Bonterra Organic Vineyards, Wine and Spirits Magazine, and many others.

Amongst Fetzer’s outstanding selection of whites, I am here to share with you my personal favorite, being their 2019 edition of Gewürztraminer. Its floral and crispy flavor is hidden within the “exotic swirl” of rose petals, honeysuckle, and apricot notes. It has a pleasant mango citrus aromatic touch that makes this white wine even more appealing to those who enjoy whites but prefer something on the drier side. Through my personal experience with Fetzer’s Gewürztraminer, I have learned that its richness in flavor is undeniable when chilled in a tall glass alone or when basked in the creamy and full-bodied garlic sauce of a shrimp penne. (Recipe for Shrimp Penne is located at the end of this article.)
I’d like to consider myself a sous chef…in the making. Indeed my passion for creating beautiful things has trickled through the grape vine. My father and executive chef Cherven Desauguste, owner of Mesob Restaurant and Rum Bar pioneered my interest in the arts, so there is no surprise that amongst my imperfect pan flipping and (sometimes too salty) seafood marinades, I have come to truly enjoy expanding my knowledge in the culinary industry. For those interested in Fetzer Vineyards and would like to have a dinner for one or host a dinner for two, please refer to the recipe below that I have curated for the modern, the amateur cook, and the big-o wineo.
Always modern. Always sustainable…and always delicious.
